About Vilde
Vilde Schanke Sundet (PhD) is a researcher in media and communication at the University of Oslo. She holds a PhD in media studies from the University of Oslo (2012). From 2010-2014, she worked as a senior advisor on media policy at the Norwegian Ministry of Culture. From 2014-2017 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Inland Norway University. From 2019-2020 she was guest researcher on digitization and media policy at the Institute for Social Research (Oslo). Sundet is part of the STREAM project, investigating how streaming media services impact cultural industries and practices.
Sundet has published one book (co-authored), and several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles in journals like European Journal of Communication, Media, Culture & Society, Poetics, Media History, International Journal of Cultural Policy, Critical Studies in Television, Convergence, Journal of Fandom Studies, Northern Lights, First Monday, VIEW, Nordicom Review, 16:9 filmtidsskrift and Norsk medietidsskrift. She is currently writing a book on television drama in the age of streaming (in contract with Palgrave Pivot).
Research interests include media industry studies (including television studies and production studies), media policy studies, and audience and fan studies.
